Las Nubes (translated as the clouds) is a beautiful farm located on the slopes of Acatenango Volcano, facing the City of Antigua. It is mostly planted with Bourbon and Caturra and in some areas it has a unique combination of both varieties mixed together. The farm became a coffee plantation in the early 70s, and since then it has sold its coffee with the same name as the farm itself. The shade is provided by the Gravilea tree. It works well for the coffee, providing cover whilst not competing with the coffee. It also provides a lot of fire wood and lumber for construction for use on the farm when the shade needs to be cut back. The soil is very loose, sandy, course, dark, and rich.
