Equator Coffee in Ottawa - Coffees

I am always put off by roasters who promote fair trade, organic, bird friendly, etc. over the actual quality and freshness of their coffee. There is a plethora of low-end small local roasters like this, and many of them have mediocre or bad coffee. It's encouraging that Equator has some sort of statement about fresh roasting, at least on weekly basis. However, their prices aren't especially low compared to other Canadian roasters with good reputations.
