Upgrading from Silvia, I looked at quite a few HX machines. Chose the Magica as I feel it's the best value for money in it's price range. I didn't find any compelling reason to spend the extra on a QM or Rocket machine but I wanted the all SS look. So far, I'm getting pretty good consistency with espresso performance- still learning the machine but it hasn't been as challenging as I expected. Packaging was very secure- I'd say there is little to no chance of shipping damage. Build and finish is very high quality. Stem and hot water levers are a nice feature. Drip tray is a good size. I read some people didn't like removing the cup warming tray to fill the machine- I personally think this is a benefit. The rails hold my cups securely in place when moving and I think it's easier to remove the whole tray vs a bunch of cups to access a hatch to fill the water. Steaming power i...
