Fair Trade Organic Ethiopia Dama - Washed Process – Kaldi's Coffee via @Kaldis_Coffee

The Dama Cooperative is located in the Gedeo Zone of the famous Yirgacheffe region in Ethiopia. Yirgacheffe is considered by many to be one of the most special coffee regions in the world because of coffee's origins there and the floral, sweet, citrusy coffees that make the region unique. This is the fourth time Kaldi's has purchased coffee from the cooperative since our visit there in 2009. This year we bought two different lots from Dama - a natural process coffee and this washed process coffee. The Dama Cooperative was founded in 1979 and has 1,728 male member and 237 female members. They are a member of the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (YCFCU), which was established in 2002 and has 22 member cooperatives representing 43,794 households.
