To us in North America, it is impossible to relate to how difficult life is in remote parts of the world, where access to safe water, education, and basic medical care is scarce or not existent at all. Take a moment right now and think about how your life would change if you had to walk a few hours every day just to get a bucket of contaminated water. No taps to turn on, no shower, and no bottles of purified spring water to be had. Imagine if the only water you had access to was also the source of many sicknesses and fatal illness. Our lives would be dramatically changed for the worse. This is the sad reality for millions of people. Clean water is the cornerstone to a healthy life, but without it life as we know it would not exist.
