She cares for her daughters by earning $40 a month cooking and cleaning for families in and around Acatenango, Guatemala, which barely covers her basic necessities. Angela lives with her grandmother, but she and her children find the living arrangement challenging. “I don’t have anywhere else to go,” she says, “I hope that my daughters have more options in life.” That’s just what the Las Nubes Afterschool and Learning Center in Acatenango is trying to provide: options.
