This naturally processed offering from Aricha in Yirgacheffe represents the work of about 700 small holders in the Southern Nation, Nationalities, and Peoples Region (SNNPR) of Ethiopia. Coffee and subsistence farming are a major part of this area’s highland culture, and wild heirloom varieties flourish in the rich, loamy soil. Natural or dry processing means that the coffee seeds are sun-dried inside the fruit which imparts a distinct berry flavor and vanilla sweetness. In addition to raspberry and vanilla, we also get honeysuckle on the nose and graham cracker at the finish. We’re excited to offer it as a single origin espresso in our cafes, but it also makes a unique filter coffee option.
